From Skeptic to True Believer

Like many of you, I was skeptical about AI. I saw the hype, but my own experiences were underwhelming. It felt like a clunky, half-assed solution in search of a problem.

I was one of those “wake me up when AI finally gets good” people and, while I had my head in the sand, AI tools got really good!

A conversation with my friend Sam Woods, one of the few legitimate AI and marketing geniuses (and a truly wonderful person), changed everything. I mentioned to Sam that I had been looking for ways to use AI to build a one-person, seven-figure business — a business that gave me more freedom, flexibility, and financial security — without sacrificing my personal life, my values, or my integrity.

Sam’s response was immediate and unequivocal: “We’re at a point where with tools like Notebook LM and Notion AI, you can operate a one-person, $1 million business pretty easily.”

That was a hell of a statement and it stopped me in my tracks. If Sam, who’s been at the forefront of AI for years, believed it was possible, I knew I needed to start taking AI seriously.

Inspiration, Curiosity, and Excitement

With Sam’s inspiration and direction, I took a leap of faith into the deep end of the AI pool. Rather than get caught up in information overload and find myself completely overwhelmed, I’ve been using a handful of tools and staying focused on a few core things that really matter (audience building, offer creation, increasing conversion, and improving customer experience).

My goal is simple: Build a one-person, seven-figure business by using AI tools to amplify my strengths, fill in the gaps where I habitually fall short, and 100x my productivity along the way.

The completely unexpected upside is that I’ve felt more alive in the last few months than I have for a LONG time.

The excitement for my work is back, and it’s stronger than ever. I’m doing more of what I love, more of what needs to be done, and I’ve easily 20x’d my productivity.

I never imagined what I have been experiencing would be possible. I won’t say it has been easy, but it absolutely has been worth it.

Most importantly, I’m finally seeing real, measurable, consistent progress week after week and that feels amazing.

Sneak Peek: March Issue

Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect in the February issue:

• Offer Co-Creation, Part II, including the backstory of how Newsletter Business Blueprint emerged unexpectedly from a conversation with Kevin Rogers, how I executed the promotion, the results, feedback so far, and lessons learned. I’ll also share where and how I used AI tools to help identify topics and structure the course.
• Using ChatGPT as a personal execution assistant. I tend to avoid anything that feels like productivity advice because it usually makes me feel worse and produce less! However, ChatGPT has been incredibly helpful, and I’ve been maintaining an unusually productive pace (while also enjoying work a lot more). It’s unlikely that the system I’ve created will be a perfect fit for you, so I’ll focus my attention on how I created a system tailored for me so you can do  that for yourself.
• AI tools overview and update. I’ll discuss the tools I’m using, including ChatGPT, Deep Research, Gemini, Claude, NotebookLM, and Perplexity. Each has its strengths (and weaknesses), and I’ve begun to gravitate toward different tools for different uses, often after comparing results from several. AI tech is moving very fast, but I’ve found that I’m getting the most value by focusing on really understanding a few core tools, and knowing what tools to use for specific work I do.

Who It’s For

It’s long overdue to give you back some praise and appreciation – and now that the dust is settling after Black Friday madness, I’m finally taking the time for it.
